Planera is a PH-first platform for hosts planning weddings, debuts, christenings, birthdays, and custom gatherings. Start from a template, edit a full guest site (copy, photos, layout), preview before publish, then share one link where guests can RSVP and browse a gift wishlist. Hosts manage the celebration from Organizer HQ—RSVPs, seating charts, rooms, places, contacts, and vendor notes—without juggling spreadsheets and group chats.
Goals and Motivation
Filipino hosts often stitch together Canva invites, Google Forms RSVPs, and scattered vendor chats. Guests get incomplete info; hosts lose track of who’s coming and where they sit. Planera aims to put the website, RSVP, wishlist, and day-of planning in one product that feels calm and celebratory.

Motivation
I wanted a product that matches how celebrations actually work in the Philippines—family-heavy guest lists, plus-ones, venues, and a need for one shareable link that feels polished. Planera is built to make that flow feel simple for hosts and clear for guests.

Challenges
Designing for PH hosts meant supporting large parties and plus-ones without overwhelming the RSVP form—I modeled parties with primary guests and named members, then reused the same seat keys across tables and rooms so declining clears seating everywhere.
Building seating UX that works for both tables and rooms risked duplicating ~1,400 lines of UI—I unified them into one parameterized seating module with shared hooks so hosts get the same drag-and-drop experience with celebration-specific copy.
Allowing guest drafts before login improves conversion but complicates ownership—I used signed guest-draft cookies plus claim-on-signup so drafts become owned events without losing work.
Keeping the product calm while packing builder depth, RSVP, wishlist, and organizer tools required clear IA—marketing, create, edit, and organizer surfaces each have one job so hosts aren’t dropped into a dashboard on day one.
